Brought together for the second time are artists who have already realised the group exhibition Resident Ghosts at NKR – Neuer Kunstraum Düsseldorf in 2022, and designed a modular system for it. Sebastian Bartel, Bretz/Holliger, Dora Celentano, Marta Colombo and Fridge_Plodge transform the exhibition spaces at Kunsthaus Essen in a site-specific intervention and stage their works in an overall structure of grid elements.
In the sequence of individual scenes and settings, Ghosts present their artistic research: Drawings, photographs, screen printing, paintings, sculptures, action, and video connect contents and formal anchor points with the spatial structure. The mysterious commentaries and riddles of these loquacious free spirits blend into a chorus of whispering voices.
